Amos Fortune Collection
Collection Description:
Papers from the life of Amos Fortune who lived, died, and is buried in Jaffrey. He was a freed slave born in Africa who died in Jaffrey at the reputed age of 91. Elizabeth Yates wrote a popular historical fiction book about him titled Amos Fortune, Free man.
