Phineas P. Gage (Report on injury)
Collection Description:
One newspaper article dated April 6 1849 from the Granite State Whig. The article itself was originally published in the Claremont Eagle. Article is about Phineas Gage (resident of Lebanon, NH) who in September 1849 survived a railroad accident. The accident occurred in Cavendish, VT when a bar, measuring 3 feet long, went through his head. Gage survived the accident. The case is well know to people who study brain science. Folder also contains one other typed written statement entitled: Recovery from the Passage of an iron bar through the head. It was written by Walton A Green and is dated August 11, 1943
