Collection Description:
The collection includes approximately 120 objects given to Portsmouth and the Public Library by local residents and artists, including paintings of the city, portraits, ceramic vases, bronze busts, etc. Artists include Sarah Haven Foster, Helen Pearson, Russell Cheney, Stow Wengenroth, Emil Otto Grundmann, Charles Parsons, possibly Chester Harding, Ulysses D. Tenney, George d'Almaine, Laban Beecher, Rosa Bonheur, Gladys Brannigan, Roy Greenaway, Thomas Ball, George S. Pitts, etc.
