Stevens Collection
Collection Description:
The Stevens Collection is a collection of over 400 maps and supporting documents dating from the late 1800s to the late 1960s. The collection houses some of the oldest maps of the entire City of Lebanon including the 1884 “Bird’s Eye” lithographs from Beck & Paula. The maps in the Stevens Collection are some of the most requested documents in the City Archives and have suffered damage through both age and frequent usage and inexpert repair. This first Phase of the Stevens Maps Conservation Project includes 395 blueprints and 65 supporting documents. Considered to be some of the earliest, detailed plans and surveys in Lebanon, the maps show the evolution of the City through road layouts, developments, rights of way and easements, railroad holdings and include the 1937 delineation of the boundary with the State of Vermont.
