1700-1800 loose documents Project
Collection Description:
All of the loose documents were found in old wooden boxes at the Newport Historical Society by the present Director Larry Cote, he approached us about applying for a grant for the documents. They were given to the NHS by a local store many years ago. We did not know these historical documents existed, what a find for the Town. They have a date ranging from 1761-1889. On some of the earliest records New Hampshire was still a Province and Newport was just declared a Town.
